Early Bird Ticket Sales for WIZARD OF OZ will be on Saturday, May 18 (10am-2pm) at the FDL Community Theatre Building at 250 West Ninth Street. $15/adult tickets and $10/children with a limit of ten tickets per performance. Children tickets are for 12 and under.
Actors needed for Cemetery Walk
Fond du Lac Community Theatre has once again been asked to participate in the historic cemetery walk at Rienzi Cemetery.

We are looking for actors who would be willing to portray an historical person from Fond du Lac that is buried at the cemetery. Below are the details.
When: Saturday, June 15, 2013
Time: 8AM until 1PM
Where: Rienzi Cemetery (we will meet at the Firehouse for costumes and carpool to cemetery)

Memorial Scholarship
Fond du Lac Community Theatre is offering its Memorial Scholarship this year in honor of many devoted and dedicated members of our organization. Application forms for the Fond du Lac Community Theatre Memorial Scholarships are now available. Applications may be found in the guidance and financial services offices at all area high schools, universities, and technical colleges. The FDLCT Memorial Scholarship was established two years ago. It is to honor dedicated men and women who always played a prominent role in their productions and continually supported the organization. Fond du Lac Community Theatre has established this scholarship to continue to acknowledge and strongly support the youth involved in its shows.

Applicants are to be high school seniors, or higher leveled students who are continuing their education in any area of post secondary education. They are asked to primarily showcase their involvement in FDLCT's productions. Students must have been involved in at least two Fond du Lac Community Theatre shows. Involvement could be in any capacity, either performing on stage, playing in the orchestra, participating behind the scenes, or doing other committee work. The scholarship is offered in the amount of $500.00 and will be rewarded at the beginning of the Fall semester. All applications need to be submitted by April 1st, 2012. It is necessary to meet this deadline in order to be considered by the Board of Directors at the April meeting. Further information can be obtained by calling Therese Burazin at (920) 235-4875.
Audition Notice
Fond du Lac Community Theater announces auditions for William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream on December 10th and 11th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Community theatre Building, 250 W. 9th Street in Fond du Lac.

We are seeking a diverse cast of about 12 men, 12 women and 6 to 8 children. Experience or training in dance or gymnastics is a plus. We will also need a small ensemble of singers, treble voices only.

Performance dates are February 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th.

•ROBIN WREN - bellhop
Appears 17-25 yrs of age, rather stupid looking.

•PAOLO QUINTI - chef
Appears 30-50 yrs of age, fiery temperament. Must have an strong Italian accent.

•HAPPY LAMPERSON - elevator operator - female or male
Appears 60-75 yrs of age, small of stature and of a timid, fearful temperament

•ELSIE WELKS - maid
Appears 17-25 yrs of age, somewhat immature, more teenager than adult

•GINA RETCH - waitress
Appears 17-25 yrs of age, somewhat immature, more teenager than adult

•ROSKEL T. GOOMEY - exterminator
Appears any age over 30 years of age, passionate about exterminating, a bit obsessive about life's work-killing bugs!

Appears mid-twenties, stereotypical WASP, yuppie ex-cheerleader. Would wear hair in a ponytail of restrained with a headband. Not very bright - gullible.

•JIP NACKERLY - newlywed husband
Appears mid-twenties, stereotypical WASP, yuppie ex-cheerleader. Would wear sweaters tied around his neck.

•ENIRA DE CAN - widow
Appears 45-65 yrs of age as a formidable, wealthy, upstanding citizen

•MADAME ZILLINDA - Mrs. De Can's physic advisor
Appears 45-65 yrs of age as a flighty, other worldly woman. Would wear turbans.

•NIGEL HAVIC - British cyclist
Appears 35-45 yrs of age upper class English "ass". Most of the time he is just plain bonkers!

•LOLA ST.BRITTANIA - child star manager
Appears 30-50 yrs of age, hard-as-nails business woman who thinks the world would work best if everyone just did as she told them.

•RONNIE ZIRCON - male child star
Appears 10 years of age, child actor who doesn't think he likes being an actor. Used to the "star: treatment.

•HANULA BING - travel writer
Appears 35-55 yrs of age (or a vigorous 65 years of age) nice woman.

•LIZA BETHINGIL - nun
Middle-aged quite, self-effacing nun.

•COCKROACH - big bug
Needs to do a simple tap dance steps and have a very pleasant turn of phrase and manner. A very nice, well-mannered insect.
Annual Membership Meeting
FDL Community Theatre's Annual Board Meeting is this Tuesday evening, July 17th at 6:30pm at 250 W. Ninth Street. Some of the agenda items include
-reports about shows from our last season
-a sneak peek at our 2012-2013 season
-scholarships awarded to two local students
-voting in new board members and officers
-recap of the year

Audition Notice
Fond du Lac Community Theatre will be holding auditions for their summer children's theatre production... The Strange Story of the Three Little Little Pigs.

Tryouts will be held on May 29th and May 31st at Sabish Middle School Cafeteria from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This will be a "cold read" audition for students in grades 4-8.

The show will be performed at Theisen Middle School Auditorium on June 29th and June 30th.
Open Auditions for Rent
FDL Community Theatre announces upcoming auditions for "RENT" which will be held at the Community Theatre building at 250 W 9th Street.

Auditions will take place on March 7 (5-8pm) and March 10 (9am-12noon) with callbacks on March 14. People ages 16 and up can audition and should come prepared to sing a song. There is a cast of fifteen with the approx age of 20-30 years old.

For further information, you can contact the Director - Todd Whittaker at 979-1242. Performance dates for this show are July 11-14 at 7:30pm at the Fond du Lac PAC. "RENT" is a rock musical and tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's lower east side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Many of the characters and plot elements are drawn directly from Puccini's opera La boheme which premiered in 1896 - 100 years before Rent's premiere. Tuberculosis, the plague of Puccini's opera is replaced by AIDS in Rent. 1800's Paris is replaced by New York's East Village in the late 1980's.
Audition Workshop
Fond du Lac Community Theatre and Windhover Center for the Arts present a free Audition Workshop.

February 29th
6:00 - 8:00 PM

Fond du Lac Community Theatre, in partnership with the Windhover Center for the Arts, is holding a special workshop that will take you through an audition process start to finish - giving you tips and techniques to beat those nerves, be confident and have a successful audition.

This free workshop is for high school age through adult and will be held at the Windhover Center at 51 Sheboygan Street.

Auditions for "Nana's Naughty Knickers"
Auditions will take place on Tuesday, January 24 and Thursday, January 26 (6-8pm) at the Community Theatre Building at 250 W 9th Street.

There are roles for 4 men (2 older and 2 younger) and 5 women (3 older and 2 younger). Several of the roles are perfect for the energetic older actors in our community. Performance dates are April 19, 20, 21 and 7:30pm and April 22 at 2:00pm at Goodrich Little Theatre.
