Dylan

Dylan, who is acclaimed to be the greatest poet of the 20th Century, was also an alcoholic. As a poet, he achieved fame and, in his own words, will "come off better than any in a thousand years." As an alcoholic, he destroyed himself. The play shows the step-by-step destruction of the man, Dylan Thomas. But where Dylan is, there "are no tears." His word to the world..."it won't be dull." "Dylan" is an exercise in illusion. Open staging, platforms with movable stairs representing different places at different times, area lighting and special sound effects are all designed to help place yourself with us in space and time. Laugh...perhaps cry a little...but most of all...let your heart go out to the man, Dylan Thomas. Poet extraordinaire...exquisitely sensitive...and an alcoholic.
